St Valentine, The Nicaean Creed and Ashabul
Kahfi - The Questions Whose Answers I Would Like To Know
A very pertinent question
Satu soalan yang jarang kita dengar ialah
"Bilakan dalam sejarah, agama asal yang dibawa oleh Nabi Jesus itu menjadi 100% sesat dari sudut pandangan ulama' Islam? "
Seperti yang kita sedia maklum ketika Jesus/Isa (I'm going to stick to Jesus from now on
supaya tidak memeningkan kepala membaca) naik ke langit, tempatnya diambil alih oleh Judas Iscariot. Kepada pembaca bukan Islam let me explain this. According to Islamic beliefs, Jesus was never crucified at the cross nor did he died. On the night of his capture by the Roman legions, God saved him and he went to the heavens to be with God. Judas Iscariot the double crosser we all came to know, was the one who died at the cross. According to Islamic belief, God changed Judas Isacriot's appearance to look exactly like Jesus. This is the "pembalasan" for his betrayal of the prophet. Ok the Christian readers out there might be asking this question now.
"Hey wait a minute. I learned from Sunday school that Judas hung himself from a tree outside of Bethlehem out of guilt. He realised his mistake and committed suicide. So if
Judas died at the cross as believed by Muslims, who was the person who looked exactly like Judas and was found hanging on that tree? This story does not make sense Obe"
You know what? I don't have an answer to this. Maybe some of the more ISLAMIC readers of this blog could answer this question.

Judas hung himself - A scene from Passion of The Christ
Anyway back to the original question. When does Islam acknowledge that the religion preached by Jesus was corrupted from its original teachings? According to Islamic beliefs, all prophets from Adam all the way to Jesus preached Islam to their followers. There is no such thing as Judaism or Christianity. Jesus preached Islam to the Jews instead of Christianity. Ditto on Moses too. You can say that Muslims believe that Christianity is the CORRUPTED version of Islam originally taught by Jesus to his followers. Since the beginning of time Islam is the only religion taught by the countless prophets and ergo the only religion certified by God.
We know from history that the first unified DOGMA of Christianity was finalised in what
is now known as The Nicene Creed. Sounds familiar? If you read The DaVinci Code you might have heard of the First Council of Nicaea. This was where the divine status of Jesus as the son of God was finally set in stone. Before this there were many different sects in Christianity with differing views on Jesus's divine status. Some of these sects didn't believe that Jesus was God. The First Council of Nicaea was created under the behest of Roman Emperor Constantine. Constantine if you might not already know was THE FIRST Roman emperor to convert to
Christianity. He called for the Council to convene after members of opposing sects start laying the smack down on each other all over the Roman Empire. To stop the impending Christian civil war, Constantine ordered the Christian bishops to come up with one unified dogma that will unite all Christians. You can say this is akin to a Muslim Emperor asking the Sunni and Syiah Muslims to sit down and agree on a unified belief system that would make them all happy. Not exactly an easy task eh?

First Council of
Nicaea
The Nicaean creed was finalised in 325 AD. This is when we know for certain that the majority of Christians (not all of the bishops agree with the Nicean Creed by the way) finally agreed
that Jesus was the son of God , the actual date of Easter and plus a few other Christian thingies that I can't be bothered to type.
The bishops who disagreed with the Nicaean Creed formed their own splinter churches such as Nestorians . It was believed that Bahira, the Christian priest who met Prophet Muhammad in Syria was a follower of the Nestorian splinter church.
Here is a recap. Prophet Muhammad went to Syria in a trading caravan with his uncle. Upon
reaching Syria Bahira saw signs on the young Muhammad that indicated that he was
the prophesied "Last Prophet" .As the story went, he saw clouds perpetually shielding Muhammad from the blistering desert sun. Bahira would then advice Abu Talib to take Muhammad away from Syria before those who saw the signs of his prophet-hood could kill him
Muhammad was 12 when he went to Syria. By my calculation this event occurred on 582 AD. 257 years after the Nicaean Creed was agreed on, the were still some Christians in Syria who does not believe that Jesus was the son of God. This might be insignificant to some but it is significant to me.
WHY?
In my article about "Valentine’s Day "Facts" are Actually Fiction" I mentioned that there were 2 St Valentines who were MARTYRED in the time of Roman Empire. It was believed that at least ONE of these St Valentines was then honoured on St Valentine's every 14th of February.
St Valentine of Rome died on 269 AD
St Valentine of Terni died on 197 AD
Do we know from which Christian sect these two Saints came from? Were they preaching the version of Christianity that does not believe that Jesus was the son of god? If this is the case. Does it mean that these Saint Valentines were actually "MUSLIMS" by definition?
Remember what I said earlier? According to Islam, Jesus was spreading Islam not Christianity
when he was still on earth (he is still alive now with God according to Islam). If the two St Valentines that were martyred by PAGAN ROMANS for the sins of preaching "Islam" in Rome, would that not also make them saints (wali Allah?) in the eyes of modern Islam?
The FINALISED version of Christianity as we know it was only agreed upon on 325 AD in The First Council of Nicaea. We know at this time there were some sects in Christianity that does
not believe Jesus was god nor he was the son of God. As a Muslim can we call these sect of "Christians" as the followers of the "original" religion preached by Jesus while he was alive i.e they are actually proto Muslims?
ASHABUL KAHFI - THE CAVE OF THE 7 SLEEPERS.I am sure many of you know the story of Ashabul Kahfi. According to Surah Ah Kahfi a few young men (numbers unknown) and a dog ran away from the tyrannical Roman Emperor Decius (201-251 AD). Emperor Decius was prosecuting and killing Christians during his reign. The young men fled the massacre and sought refuge in a cave believe to be in Ephesus, Turkey. They ended up sleeping for 300 years and only woke up in the
reign of Theodosius_II

The Cave of 7 Sleepers
now
The story of Ashabul Kahfi is also known among Christians as The Story of the 7 Sleepers. In Surah Al Kahfi ,it was established that the fleeing young men were MUSLIMS who believed in Allah as the one true God. In the Christian version of the story the 7 young men were identified as true believers of Christ.
Now. Observe the date ladies and gentlemen.
It was believe that the story of Ashabul Kahfi/The 7 Sleepers occurred in 250 AD. In Al Quran the sleepers were Identified as "pemuda-pemuda yang beriman kepada Allah".
Now..
I have been thinking about this for days. What do you guys think? Good question kan?
p/s : You've been up here too long man. You've lost your marbles. Can you see where I am going here?
Is it correct to look down on St Valentine where there COULD BE A REMOTE possibility that Valentine of Terni died preaching the word of Allah to the people of Rome? The possibility that St Valentine died preaching a form of "Proto Islam" cannot be denied. The dates coincided with the story of Ashabul Kahfi which was told in Al Quran itself. So we have proof that up to 250 AD, before the Nicaen Creed was passed there are still "orang kristian yang berimanan kepada
Allah".
So I am asking you these questions;
"Islam" to Romans.... would it still be wrong to celebrate St Valentine's
Day?"
SAINT is HARAM
"Do you think it IS POSSIBLE that St Valentine is actually a
"seorang lelaki yang beriman kepada Allah" like the dudes in
"Kisah Ashabul Kahfi" ?"St Valentine of Rome died on 269 AD
St Valentine of Terni died on 197 AD
Ashaful Kahfi occured in 250 AD
